Spring is such a lovely time of the year, with the long winter nights going, new buds on the trees and best of all, the lambing season. It’s a great experience for kids to visit a farm and delight at meeting these adorable lambs. There are lots of places around Hertfordshire to meet newborn lambs and at some places you can even bottle feed them.
Here are a selection of the best lambing days around Hertfordshire and we’ll keep adding more. Some of the farms have lambing everyday and others are just special weekend events. Many places also have other activities going on so you can make it a full fun family day out with the kids.

Church Farm (Ardeley)
Lamb bottle feeding starts at Church Farm, Ardeley from February half term. A total of 5 people can bottle feed the lambs per session in a spacious enclosure where you can sit and spend time feeding and getting to know the lambs.
Aldenham Country Park (Elstree)
Create memories that last a lifetime whilst bottle feeding our adorable lambs (available from 15th February daily through to 5th May) A Farm Pass is required to participate in Lamb Bottle Feeding

Old Macdonld’s Farm (Brentwood)
Meet the lambs and baby animal encounters as part of the Easter Festival running 5th to 21st April 2025
Watergate Farm (near Leighton Buzzard)
The farm will be open again during the peak Lambing Season this Easter. Visitors can hold the lambs and see a modern sheep farm at work. With over 2000 sheep to give birth, it is a great chance to see lambs being born, taking their first few steps and suckling their mothers for the first time.
Mead Open Farm (Billington, nr Leighton Buzzard)
Put on your nattiest knitwear and get yourself down to Mead Open Farm this February Half Term, because Lambing is Back for 2024, 15th – 23rd February
Rookery Open Farm (Towcester)
The Rookery Open Farm lambing season will run from 11th March to end April 2023, open every day apart from Tuesday. During the lambing season you may be able to experience seeing some of the baby lambs being born.
