A fantastic refurbishment has completely transformed Burrell Road playground, and it really is amazing. What are you waiting for….. head down there in the sunshine and enjoy all the new facilities.
Following on from a public vote for the design, this is a very impressive playground. There is so much for the children to explore and interact with.
Isabella headed straight to the wooden trim trail, perfecting her balancing skills, walking along the beams and jumping on the logs. We always spend ages on these so were very pleased that this playground had one. It’s great for children to develop their core elements.
There was a wide variety of swings to enjoy, from the usual baby swings, basket swing, order swing and duo swing. There was also two of each so meant on a busy day there wouldn’t be much queuing.
One thing which really stood out to me was the brightly coloured interactive play equipment / sensory area. There were bongo drums you could play, a musical pipe section, play panels, and mazes on the wall. Plus all the facilities for the smaller children had vibrant colours which made it appealing and really stood out.
There was in fact two different sea-saws, and both of them had more than two seats which is great as means more room to enjoy with your friends. A climbing wooden frame provided lots of fun for Isabella- she was like Spiderman climbing to the top.
The playground had two incredibly units, one aimed at for younger children, and then the other was ideal for older children. The smaller one was a perfect height, and had stepping stones, wobbly bridge, and there own slide too. There was also interactive play panels on the play unit aswell.
Towards the front of the playground the climbing unit for older children is great, there is a climbing wall, rope ladder, fireman’s pole (which Isabella kept launching herself down) a massive slide and different levels to explore.
This is such a great refurbished playground, and the design has really captured so many wonderful features for the children to enjoy.
