Disney On Ice Review
Wow, what can I say about this experience! I may be 33 years old and have two children but I’m not ashamed to say I am absolutely huge Disney fan. Growing up, I had every princess dress there was and recently I’ve loved introducing all the Disney princess and characters to my little girls. So when we were invited to Disney on Ice at the Leeds First Direct Arena we jumped at the chance!
The show was nothing short of magical. We took our 5 month old baby and 2 x 3 year olds and it was really perfect for all the family. I was bit apprehensive about taking our baby somewhere so busy, but she was fine and the staff were brilliant! As we arrived, there was a sea of little girls in princesses dresses – I’ve never seen anything quite like it!
We used the carrier which I’d definitely recommend and she seemed to absolutely love the first half and was mesmerised by the bright lights and sounds… then somehow managed to sleep through the entire second half!
The show started with Mickey and Minnie Mouse welcoming everyone to the show. Minnie and Mickey introduced the show and shared how all their favourite stars who had big dreams would be coming out. We then saw Tinkerbell dance around the ice – forget about our little girl … I was mesmerised!
We were then treated to what I can only describe as a mini broadway show of Aladdin, it was nothing short of impressive! In between each new character Mickey and Minnie came on the Ice to introduce each one. The first half lasted around 45 minutes and we saw Beauty and The Beast, Moana, The little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty!
There was a short interval just enough for a toilet break and to grab some drinks and then it was time for the second half, we were treated to CoCo, Tiahanna and an extended Frozen medley!
The highlights for us were definitely the Moana boat seen- it felt magical and seeing Olaf. At the end of the performance all the characters came on stage to dance together and wave goodbye. Our girls were all dancing away and had the best time ever.. and I perhaps shed a little tear!
Thank you Disney for bringing the magic and making dreams come true. I could not recommend this experience enough!
