Summer Safari arts, crafts and storytelling fun at The Oracle

Become a Safari Scout In Real Life at the Oracle in Reading.

Pitch up at our camp for animal arts, crafts and jungle dancing, then settle down for Safari storytime.

Running Monday’s & Tuesday’s from 26th July – 24th August, 10am – 4pm on The Riverside. No need to book, simply come along and join in the fun. (weather permitting, event will be brought indoors to outside H&M if we encounter heavy rain showers.) Daily activities:

Monday 26th July Today children will come along to Safari Camp for an introduction into a range of wonderful animals, learn fun facts, join in some fun activities and leave with a Safari Scout Certificate! Children can also colour in a wonderful card animal shape.

Tuesday 27th July Today children will come along to Safari Camp and get crafty as they make their very own Safari themed binoculars to sneak upon those sleeping lions – if you dare!

Monday 2nd August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and learn all about Tigers… How to pounce like a Tiger, how to Gggrrrrr like a Tiger and how to dance like a Tiger! Lots of Gggggggrrrrreat fun and children will leave with a Safari Scout Certificate! Children can also colour in a wonderful card animal shape.



Tuesday 3rd August Today children will be welcomed for a story telling session with a range of tiger themed short story including the well-known “Tiger who came for Tea”. Children can also colour in an animal mask!

Monday 9th August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and learn all about Monkeys.. How to swing like a Monkey, how to Ooh ooh aah aah like a Monkey and how to do the Banana dance! Lots of monkeying around and children will leave with a Safari Scout Certificate! Children can also colour in a wonderful card animal shape.

Tuesday 10th August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and get crafty as they make their very own Rain maker- perfect for dancing around to some Safari Sounds!

Monday 16th August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and learn all about Elephants… Are they really scared of mice? We will learn how to wriggle around in muddy puddles like our giant friends and do Elephants really fly like Dumbo? Lots of monkeying around and children will leave with a Safari Scout Certificate! Children can also colour in a wonderful card animal shape.

Tuesday 17th August Today children will be welcomed for a story telling session with a range of Elephant themed short stories and perhaps a sing along… We may find out what happened to Nellie the Elephant after she packed her trunk!

Monday 23rd August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and learn all about Giraffes… Why do they have such long necks? Are they really the tallest animals on earth? What happens when there’s a girrafic jam in the Safari? Endless fun and children will leave with a Safari Scout Certificate! Children can also colour in a wonderful card animal shape.

Tuesday 24th August Today children will come along to Safari Camp and get crafty as they make their very own animal door hanger! Perfect to let the world know they are a true Safari Scout!
